Default Linksys Router BEFSR11 (Vers. 1.46.00 ) and Motorola Modem Problem.

Hello,

I used, for four years, the Linksys (vers.1.42.00) and as
a Firewall only in tandem with a rented Terayon Modem with
no problem whatsoever. I upgraded the router firmware in
Jan'04 to 1.46.00 - no problem.

After a recent six week period of off-lineness (a respite)
I renewed my account with Shaw Cable (Canada) and
purchassd their new modem (the Motorola). I found that at
regular intervals I lost my internet connectivity. Shaw
Cable said they had no problem with the Motorola, and were
not interested.

I found another upgrade for the Linksys and applied it -
this in Nov'04. (vers. 1.46.02). No change.

Any suggestions as to how I might proceed from here would
be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Ben.

Soggy socks and
Hatless, rivers of wet
Slide over my face
Down my neck into the nethers
But I don't care
Conceived in rain
Born, raised to it,
Proud to be so
And glad I'm
Welsh
And wet!

Slange ne gael(?), Noel.

That was last week - and 5 miles away!
Down here at sea level (or is it below? - the high-tide mark comes up to my
window-sills!) we very rarely get any snow unless the weather is coming from
one particular direction.
