Num Lock Problems
Hello,
I wasn't sure where to post this. All of a sudden I have a machine whose num lock key is acting strangly. We haven't installed any software (that I am aware of) that would have cause this. When the num lock key is pressed, instead of getting numbers when pressing a number, it acts like a tab key has been pressed. So... 1. I reinstalled the driver 2. I uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled 3. I tried a different keyboard (both usb and ps2) All deliver the same results. So, I thought there must be a virus...so using the latest virus updates from symantec I did a full scan and turned up nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Paul |

If I understand you correctly, when you press the Number Lock Key (Num Lock) so that the light is off, the keys you press move the cursor around? What if you press it so that the Num Lock key is lighted? Can you type numbers then? If so, then nothing is wrong. That is supposed to behave like a substitute mouse in case your rodent dies. Num Lock Problems
Andrew,
Ummm...no...I am well aware that the light on means numlock is on and you should get numbers when you type. So, no...when the num lock is ON (light on) I don't get any numbers when typing...it acts like I am hitting the tab key. Paul "Andrew H. Carter" wrote in message ... Num Lock Problems
I don't know really what is it, but I
think that should be the Num Lock settings located at windows system files (that al- lows the Num Lock to turn on at start) and the BIOS settings to do the same. paul reed wrote: Andrew, Ummm...no...I am well aware that the light on means numlock is on and you should get numbers when you type.
