With reference to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/171002/en-us, there is a 28
window limit. How can one increase the 28 window limit stored in the registry?

Just curious. WHY would anyone want even 28 windows open at the
same time?

I've had that happen to me in the past, before I got a Pop-Up Blocker.

I've got so many subfolders, I might need almost 20 Windows open just to MOVE a
Folder.

The limit being discussed is the limit on how many windows' configuration
will be stored by Windows. If you customize the appearance of 28 different
folders, then customize a 29th folder, the previously-saved customization of
one folder will be lost to make room for the new one.

That is news to me and thanks for the input Richard. I have never had a
need for this many customized schemes in Windows.

That article is wrong--the 28-settings' limit pertains to W95. W98 has 100
(0 to 99) sub keys for settings while SE has 200 (0 to 199).

Thanks for helping to correct the misinformation, Ron. I certainly
appreciate it and this is a good reason why we need MVP's to keep a
watch over the newsgroups. smile

Can attest there is more than 28 window limit. Did that when opened a
newsgroup post a couple of years ago. It caused continuous multiple windows
to open. Well over 28. Had 98SE at the time.
