Default Ping! Silj, and others, regarding adware detection applications

My wife, bless her little heart, found this report on adware detection and
removal applications (http://www.adwarereport.com/mt/archives/000004.html)
during her surfing the internet recently. She believes that we may want to
invest in one of the more highly rated ones (we both have Ad-aware SE and
SpyBot S&D on our machines) as she was concerned with the figures given by
this site in their performance. I'm not familiar with any of the other
applications, nor can I recall reading anything in here or others groups
regarding them, so I'd like to get some opinions/advice before making a
decision to "upgrade" to a different adware killer. Any feedback will be
greatly appreciated.

I think that Adaware and Spybot work just as well as the paid ones, so
no need to get the paid ones.
