using win 98se, dell desktop 5 yrs old. pentIII 450mhz, 384 ram, video card
3dfx voodoo3. 800 x 600 resolution. what should color setting be: high color
16 bit or true color 32 bit? thank you, len kiesling

What it COULD be is dependent upon the capabilities of
A your monitor and B your video adapter.

What it SHOULD be is high-color. That will be faster than true color.

have it set to high color 16 bit. have monitor from dell, 5 yrs ago, 17"
crt, & 3dfx voodoo 16mb video card. thanks for the clarification. you have

With a 16-MB video card, there is no reason *not* to use 24-bit True Color, though
you will not notice too much of a difference in everyday use. The speed difference
should not be noticeable either. I suggest you have a read here, for some
interesting explanations:

thank you for the added info! found the site most informative. it answered
my immediate question, why it shows true color 32 bit, when direction said
to use 24 bit. thanks again! len kiesling
