I have redownloaded media player 9 and it still won't
play anything. I get the error- 0xC00D11D1, it says
driver may need to be updated. I went to the update
window and says I don't need to update. It's been
about 2 wks. that it hasn't worked. It loads, act's like
it's going to play,but doesnt'.

Try this web site. http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html
I believe the individual runs it in his spare time, although full time
works on the product. What you shouldn't do is try to uninstall the product.
It appears the cure for some problems is a reload. Scroll through the web
site to see if you can pick up a fix for your problem.

Thanks Alan, I went to the sight but it didn't have what I needed. I even went
to the final download site of wmp. 9 and it was the same that I had downloaded
from a couple of days ago. Still need help.

Hmm, does the latest version you have loaded appear in the Firewall as valid
software, come to that, what happens when you open the player with the
firewall disabled? Also, when you access the Media Player files in your
directory, locate a file mplayer2 and open it. This is the old basic
version - does this work OK.

You may also want to try accessing this information:-
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../internet.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...q/default.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...yererrors.aspx
This last one gives all the error codes and for the code you have given it
is suggesting that you may need new drivers for the graphics and/or the
audio cards. These will not be available from the Windows site but from the
manufacturer of those cards.
All the articles below give additional help on Media Player 9 for Win 98SE,
