Default windows media player 7 and windows 98

my wmp do not play music cds. it shows the tracks. play through the cd but no
sound comes. the following message is given before it starts playing.PLEASE
HELP THANK YOU.
Windows media player performance
We have determined that windows media player cannot accuretely read your cd
drive digtally. Windows medi player will therefore switch to reading your cd
drive in analog mode your cd’s will play but the following items will not
work when playing cd’s visualizations, SRS Wow effect, grapic equalizer
