Default Problem printing with HP Deskjet 932C

Hi,

I am having a very similar problem with a HP 648C and a Windows ME
computer. I can not print to the printer, or any other printer I have
trie, using the parallel port. All I get is garbled text and multiple
pages, similar to Shari, I can
not print successfully from notepad or the self test or anywhere else in
windows, however, the dos print (lpt1) command works. I think there
might be something wrong with a setting at the bios level. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. I have confirmed that the printer is working fine
and there are no IRQ conflicts.

Thank you!

Yesterday I spent hours fixing prob with 932C for client. I cleaned off
spyware using SpyBot, Viruses using NAV and AVG, and ran Stinger for worms,
reinstalled new latest drivers - but 932C still would not print from ME (but
would print from DOS ok). I removed Disk Keeper software from Executive
Software (client reported possible problem during his installation within
last month). After r emoving DK using Control Panel Remove and reinstalling
new drivers again the 932C started working again. Hope this helps.
