camera driver

I am having trouble installing drivers for my Minolta
Dimage Z1 digital camera. The camera is not detected by PNP
and when I try to install new hardware and direct it to the
folder where the drivers are (on the supplied CDROM) it
tells me that "The specified location does not contain
information about your hardware." I have tried reinstalling
drivers in Device manager, auto detection, downloading new
drivers from Minolta but nothing works. Under system info I
can get it to give a listing for other devices where it
will list the camera but it will still not allow me to
install the drivers and when the computer is restarted the
camera is gone from the list.

Did you install the software on that CD ?

I've had the same problem and finely gave up on installing
Minolta Z1 software in 98. It works the way it should in
XP. Did you ever get it to work in 98??? and HOW did you
get it to work???
