Default Windows ME Login Password Reset

Got a PC from a relative who upgraded to a new PC with XP sometime ago. The
old PC that he gave me runs Windows ME and he cannot remember the login
password at setup.
Want to know what do I do to reset the password - do I reload the windows ME
system - will this reset the login passwords?
Do I remove the user profile and start again? He had himself, and family
members as seperate logins. Want to keep the applications but he does know
where the original disks are.

To create a new login, simply change the Username on the opening prompt, and
leave the password blank (unless you want to have to log in every time).
Then to remove the old logins, use Search to find files named ".PWL"
(without the quotes, and note the 'dot'), delete or rename all EXCEPT for
the one that refers to your new Username. You can then go to Windows
Explorer and delete the Profiles you don't need (but not essential).
