I upgraded from windows 98 to windows me
when I start the computer I get a message window
that says MPREXE
then it is hard to turn the computer off
I have to force to shut down.
what can I do please reply

A better description of the error report (the actual wording!) might help.

However, try "Error Message: MPREXE Not Responding"
