Default No Sound from WMP or QuickTime but sound comes from RealPlayer

I'm running Win98SE on a 1.1Ghz Celeron w/ 248MB RAM. I have onboard sound
through VIA. Recently, programs like Windows Media Player and QuickTime won't
play sound. I can get RealPlayer to play music and sound and it isn't
affecting the WAV's being played.

What can I do?

Got it working thanx to Nikki.

if reinstalling all your media drivers didn't work, try this.

turn on PC, restart PC. hold or press DELETE to run setup during initial
startup. Select "load settings default" or "load optimal settings." press Y
if prompted. then select "save and exit setup." you just need to change some
CMOS.

inform me if it still didn't work.
