98se registry errors

every time I start computer, I get the following messages:
#1 windows encoutered an error accessing the system
registry. windows will restart and repair the registry.
press enter to continue

press enter...
#2 windows found an error in your system files and
restored a recent bachup of the files to fix the problem.
press enter to restart windows

any ideas... this has been consistent for several days

Have a look here...it may be faulty or poorly-seated RAM, registry damage, or the
"damage" flag in the currently used registry file is not being reset by the Registry
Checker tool:
