Default Different version of W98SE?

I am comparing a used P133 to my normal P166

My P166 has W98SE, ver. 4.10.2222.A. Years ago, I applied several critical
patches, if this relates to below.

My P133 seems to have the same thing. HWdiag ran and also shows ver.
4.10.2222.A, probably no patches applied.

When I shut down my P166, I have 5 options (standby, log off, etc.). In the
P133, I only see 3, shutdown, restart and cancel, like W95.

If the version is the same, why do I see a difference?

Comment?

TIA

Log off only appears if you are logged on. If the pc is configured for
multiple users, even if the user names were never created or actually used
there is the option to log off. It is more a windows configuration issue
than a version issue and can be added or removed.
Standby is problematic, is not well supported by all hardware, particularly
older hardware, often if the attempt to go into standby mode fails more than
once the option is removed from the shutdown screens, by the OS.
Restart in DOS mode can be disabled for security(?) reasons by a number of
registry tweaks, user policies, or other software.

hope it helps

Just to make things interesting there is version 4.10.2222.B if you update
via the Windows Update Security cd for 98SE that is available from Microsoft.

That is interesting! I haven't gone to a MS update site in a long time
since they stopped supporting W98SE and IE 5.01.

Do you know (or URL) diffeences between A and B? And where to search for it?

TIA

Contact Microsoft for the Windows 98SE Security CD and they should still
mail it to you for free. Have a nice night.
