I checked this: there are no "cable connection" in Internet Explorer Options 'Connections' menu: there is 'Dial-up settings' -all boxes inactive, and 'LAN settings' button, which have(in LAN settings tab) "Automatically detect settings" checked, and 'Use a proxy server' box is unchecked. I have no LAN in my home. But there are *no* other selections in Internet Explorer 'Connections' tab. Also, I find no any directions or notes to this broadband cable modem in my PC(at least, i find no it). mistral uncheck the "Automatically detect settings" and give it a try I tried - not help. Just show message in status bar, with correct IP: 'Connecting to site: IP .. ..", or 'Opening page http://www.domain.com/ (if i type url in browser window) But no page loads. go to IE optionsconnections at the bottom there is a "LAN setup?" (don't have a win98 in front of me at the moment) step thru the LAN setup again and tell it how you connect (select "local gateway") |
