I shall be very grateful for an advice as the

The TP-Link adapter is seems acceptable by the WinMe

I long ran an HP Pavilion 6745C (Windows ME) on a DSL connection. Used a
router between the modem and computer.

My brother-in-law also connected a Windows ME computer to cable Internet
using a modem and router set up similar to mine.

Any ISP specific issues would be handled by the modem, and should be
transparent to the OS on the other side of the modem from the ISP.

AAH,

Those numbers show that you are connected to the router so please can you
explain what problems you are seeing. If you weren't connected you would
not have had a 192.168.1.xxx address allocated to the NIC nor would you have
any of the Gateway, DHCP or DNS boxes populated.

Thanks for the details.
WinXP
IP Add 192.168.1.64
SubMask 255.255.255.0

DGateway 192.168.1.254
DHCP Server 192.168.1.254
DNS Server 192.168.1.254

The TF3200 adapter software has provided clearly separate driver for
WinMe and the setup at the end certify
that " Found the Adapter and install/update
successfully" and the device manager does
not show any sign of error.
The adapter standard is marked on the pack
is 802.3

As I mentioned earlier that the WinXP is
on the Laptop which is connected via the
Wireless. It is fine there is no problem
with this machine.

The problem is with the WinMe desktop
computer.The BTHomeHub Ver 2.0 T9J3
cannot get itself connected to this computer.
I think it is somewhere at the TCP/IP(Network) property tabs. The DNS
Configuration tab
the DNS is disabled.
Is it correct? or should be enabled?

Fine, but that wasn't my question. I asked you what you saw on the Win Me
PC. I'm not interested (for now) in the laptop running XP. So again, could
you please tell me the result of running winipcfg on your PC running Win Me
since that is the machine having problems.

AAH,

Please tell me exactly what you see as the answer to my earlier questions.
Please provide an answer to each question. For now the hub, its version and
your laptop aren't really relevant. I just want to know about your Win Me
PC since that is where the problem lies.

Reinstalled the TF3200 driver.
No error in device manager under
Network Adapter there
1 Dial-up Net Working
2 TP-Link TF32oo driver

I run the BTHomeHub software it start
connecting to cable and after the test
the error is"Not Connected" and it ask
to select "Obtain an Ip address Auto"
This correction does not make any
difference it comes up again the same error
I have done many times restarts but no help.
If I open IE and type 192.168.1.254 the
error is "IE cannot open the search Page"

AAH,

You still haven't answered my question. What EXACTLY does winipcfg tell you
about the TF3200. Until and unless you answer those questions there is
NOTHING I or anyone else can do to help you.

I have, at this time, absolutely no interest in the homehub or your laptop.
I am ONLY interested in the connection, or lack of, on your PC running Win
Me. Get that right and then everything else can follow on from that. Your
problem could be as trivial as the internet cable being either faulty or not
plugged in properly at either end.

The DSL modem is the device which handles the ISP connection. Mine is
external; most common in the U.S. Phone port on one side connects to a wall
jack, Ethernet port on the other side connects to any device with an
Ethernet port.

My WinMe computer has already Modem
working OK. and trying to connect the machine to BTBroadband Via BTHomeHub

Internal modem? Unfortunately, that changes things, and I don't really know
what to offer next. What you are now describing sounds less like a DSL
issue, and more like a networking issue. Is this BTHomeHub an Ethernet hub?
I once connected two Windows ME computers using a hub, and a dial-up modem
in one of the computers. I was able to get Windows ME "ICS" ("Internet
Connection Sharing") to work with that configuration.
