Default "There are n users connected. Shutting down will disconnect them..

I am a Network admin and we still have some users working with Windows 98SE
and connected to the network.

When these users shut down their machines they get the message:
"There are 20 users connected. Shutting down will disconnect them.....".

I would like to disable such pop ups so that users do not get such messages
while shutting down their machine. Is there a registry setting through which
I can disable this messages on Windows 98 systems.

Please advice,

Thanks.

Since the machines are being shut-down with some other systems still
"connected" to them, you obviously don't care about those connections,
or they aren't important - or maybe even aren't needed.

Do other machines need to make connections to those win-98 machines?
Are the win-98 machines sharing anything (like files or printers)? If
not, then you need to disable file and printer sharing. Then you will
stop getting those messages during shutdown.
