Default How do you delete Media Player

Can someone please tell me how is it possible to completly delete Windows
Media Player 9 from Windows 98SE ?
Evidently because it is loaded on my computer, the installation wizard for
Nero 7 ultra refuses to load INCD 5.
It has something to do with a driver used by Windows Media player on bootup
will conflict with a driver required for
INCD to be installed. If there is no way to delete Windows Media Player 9,
is there a way to delete the offending driver that Windows Media player
seems to think that it needs to load on bootup. I really don't care about
Windows Media Player anymore because I have Creative's Play Center which is
far superior to the Windows Media Player.

In Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs, and then click Windows Media
Player. Windows Media Player 9 Series will be removed.

However, I cannot guarantee if you do that possibly it won't inadvertently
break your current player, which may cause you to reinstall that current
player; which is I think you're saying Creative's Play Center thingy, or
whatever else is an unknown...

Dont Use Incd

packet writing software is extremely unreliable, cds written with packet
writing software often cannot be read on another pc, with the same software,
or on the same pc with a reinstalled software after a crash. NOT a good idea
for something usually used as a backup

That sounds the Adaptec (Roxio) CD Burning Plug-in that was installed during the WMP
installation may be part of the problem.

That Adaptec fix though Glen is specifically for EasyCDCreator (now called
EasyMediaCreator) made by Roxio, but InCD is made by NERO and so in this
case that would not be the problem.

I'm sure though that the resolve to stop the OP's problem is similarly just
as simple, and someone with that particular software and the ability needs
to isolate the problem and outline the solution. If it were me I would
simply just not install InCD because I do agree with the other posters
feelings that these packet writers are really imho, passe, or just not
necessary really and a waste of time and an unecessary clutter in the
taskbar not to mention more importantly a running process - afterall we
have usb pens now giving us 1GB and more of instant data storage with the
ease and no hassle use that no packet writer could ever dream of having,
and so not installing Roxio's Drag-to-Disc (formerly DirectCD) or Nero's
InCD is really a blessing and one less fly to swat ...imho

I was thinking in terms of the Roxio CD Burning Plug-in possibly interfering
with the installation of Nero's InCD, which is why I posted a link on how to
*remove* it. There is also a Nero Fast Burning Plug-in that is sometimes
alternately installed, depending on what is already on the computer at the
time WMP9 is installed, AFAIK. Since I had Nero installed already, WMP9
added the Nero plug-in, not the Roxio plug-in. The best thing might be to
remove either if installed, and also use Nero's driver removal tool, one of
the utilities available on their FTP site.

Agreed, these days it makes far more sense to use a USB flash drive than to
bother with the overhead of packet-writing software. :-)

...yes I do see that now at Zachs site where he mentions something along
those lines - I've never seen that there before or perhaps I just didn't
notice at the time:

Q: Why does WMP crash if I have InCD 2.x installed?
A: InCD 2.x makes the Adaptec/Roxio plug-in unhappy. Remove the Adaptec
plug-in, remove InCD 2.x, or upgrade to InCD 3.x.

...and at the link you posted, to another link, shows how to uninstall it.
