Your question is not very clear to me. Let me provide this answer and if it
is not what you want, post back and ask again. When I set up multi boots, I use a partitioning program to create additional primary partitions upon which to install the systems. I then use a boot manager to select which system will start at boot. I use: BootIt Next Generation is available from: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does many other partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not quite as easy to use as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more features. Unlike the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support articles. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Cajun Clickers of Louisiana" wrote in message ... various methods with a multi boot of XP and What are the various methods to have a 60 Gig HD partitioned into 3 / 20 Gig Partitions with a multi boot of XP and ME or XP and 98 or XP with ME & 98? Hi
Well I have a computer with 3 Operating Systems. 1.Win98SE 2.Win2000PRO. 3.WinXP I used FDISK in ms-dos mode and created 3 partions on a 7.35GB HDD. And Windows thinks there are 3 HDD's when ther is just 1 HDD. C: D: E: are the names of each partions of the HDD. F: is the CD-ROM. you DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE SOME KIND OF SOFTWARE TO DO IT. But you have to install Windows in order. This may help you.GO TO: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/multiboot.asp C For a free anti-virus software go to: www.AVAST.com "Cajun Clickers of Louisiana" wrote: various methods with a multi boot of XP and What are the various methods to have a 60 Gig HD partitioned into 3 / 20 Gig Partitions with a multi boot of XP and ME or XP and 98 or XP with ME & 98? If, for example, the Windows XP version of Kernel32.dll somehow got copied to the Windows 98 partition and overwrote the Windows 98 version of Kernel32.dll your Windows 98 would probably be unusable until the correct file version was put into place. I therefore favor always using a third party boot manager program when booting multiple operating systems, and configuring it so that the non-booting operating systems are always hidden.
