Default HOW TO UNINSTALL MESSENGER IN 98?

Would someone tell me how to install "windows messenger"
in windows 98?

If I remember correctly, this is a seperate "window messenger"
and has nothing to do with microsoft messenger or aol messenger.

I believe it is responsible for ads and windwos popping up
and whatnot, and I seem to remember it involved some kind of
a host file that had a bunch of zeros in it.

If I also remember correctly, this was different from using
adaware or spybot, but a completely other way of getting popups.

Thanks!
