Try swapping your monitor with a monitor from a friend's computer. If the
monitor is still purple on his computer then it's probably going bad, but if
his monitor turns purple on your computer you have a graphic adapter
problem.

Trying another monitor as Richard suggests should give an indication
but (FWIW) I have had two monitors turn pink and both were due to the
monitor cable having trouble. As they were not removable, I waggled
the cable until it lost the pink and then tied it in that position and
it was good for a few years.

I've always wanted blue eyes--would twisting my ears and taping them help?

No but it would likely bring a nice rosy color to your cheeks after a while.
