Windows Me updates
Xpost to WinME newsgroup.
You needn't have renamed the file download for WMP update 828026. That being said, may I ask if you've ever reinstalled WinME without first having uninstalled IE6? Windows Me updates
the standard WMP.DLL for Win ME is 3250 - which is updated by the KB911565
patch... unfortunately, I can't find a reference for Win ME, but the Win2K patch installs v3344, so this is likely to be the broken patch that needs reinstalling (just checked in a system here - and it is!). go to Windows Update Catalog, and download the patch for offline install - search for '911565' - save it to a safe place, then boot to Safe Mode and run the patch. let us know the exact text of any error messages you get along the way.. If it installs OK, then download and run Belarc Advisor - and check for any more broken Hotfixes. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Irene" wrote in message ...
