d-link router/zonealarm firewall

I am going to install a d-link router and I know this is a type of
firewall... should I uninstall zonealarm before installing the router?
will it cause a conflict if both are being used? So far I have not been
able to "plug and play" the router. I'm having trouble connecting to the
internet after booting up. Just wondering if this may be the source of the
problem

Instead of uninstalling ZA, just turn it off and uncheck "load at
startup" until you've got your router hooked up and are connectable.

Once that's over with you can configure ZA again if need be. Even though
your firewall has an incoming router, a system firewall is an early
warning system for spyware/adware that your computer can become infected
with.
