You haven't been precise in your report. Did something go wrong with the
procedure, or did the procedure work-- but the problem remains? Anyway... "START, Find, F/F, WINDOWS.CHM". R-Clk it, & select Properties. Does it look like this (Win98SE)... WINDOWS.CHM Type: Compiled HTML Help file Loc: C:\WINDOWS\HELP Size: 570,136 bytes Created: (unknown) Mod: Friday, April 23, 1999 10:22:00 PM Attributes: None checked but Archive. I do not have a 98 disk???? anymore ideas??? I get that error message on occasion too. My computer is weird! Sometimes it accesses Windows Help, sometimes not. During the time that it absolutely would NOT ever access Help, I located the file in windows.chm by conducting a "search".... and I put a copy of it at the top of my tree. Now, when Win98 can't find Help for me, I know how to find it fast. Good Luck! Practice safe eating - always use condiments |
