Default Windows 98 Upgrade

as long as you have cd call microsoft product support
they should generate product key for you

Had to redo friends computer he erased some files.
took it back to 95 so I could get in. Now am trying
to upgrade with 98 cd. Problem is the Product Key number
is not coming out right. the only number I have
is on the Certificate of Authenticity.
Says Product ID.is there another number I should
look for borrowed this cd from a friend. would the
number be on her computer..Thanks for the help
BTW what start out as an IBM is now a gateway..it was
the only restoration cd that would work. He lost
all the cd that came with computer.So I just
entered generic and it work.Thaks for your help
