Monitor turns on and off
On to my next issue;
My monitor for no apparent reason will just turn on and off. One particular program is Acrobat reader it just keeps going on and off until I close acrobat reader. It does it on a few web sites also. I took it to another computer and it worked fine. Checked all my connections everything is tight. Any ideas? |

Monitor turns on and off - periodic monitor failure
I had a similar problem when I manually set the refresh
rate too high for my monitor. The monitor would periodically fail for about 1/2 second, and then light again because it could not keep up. Right click on an empty part of the desktop Go to Settings tab Click Advanced button Go to Monitor tab For Refresh Rate, Pick 60 Hz (any monitor I know of can do at least that) If your Refresh Rate was ALREADY set to 60 or Default, then you are probably experiencing some other problem. -----Original Message----- On to my next issue; My monitor for no apparent reason will just turn on and off. Monitor turns on and off - periodic monitor failure
There is no refresh rate when I follow the path you
specified. The only options I have are monitor is energy star compliant, automatically detect plug and play monitor, reset display on suspend/resume. Now what? -----Original Message----- I had a similar problem when I manually set the refresh rate too high for my monitor. What monitor is it configured to use? Using the wrong monitor drivers can
cause this. Shane "C.Sams" wrote in message ... There is no refresh rate option there either. -----Original Message----- "C.Sams" wrote in message .. . There is no refresh option at all. It just tells me what
video card I have, who manufactures it and what it features. -----Original Message----- "C.Sams" wrote in message ... There is no refresh rate option there either. Monitor turns on and off - periodic monitor failure
In device manager it lists two default monitors. In one of
them I unchecked "exist in all hardware profiles" and checked "disable in this hardware profile" They say that "no driver is required or have been loaded for this device. To update the driver for this device click update driver". I do this and it says the best driver for this device is already installed. It doesn't actually say the manufacturer for my monitor it just says "Standard Monitor Types". Should it actually say "Acana"? Even after all this it still clicks on and off. -----Original Message----- What monitor is it configured to use? Using the wrong monitor drivers can cause this. Shane "C.Sams" wrote in message ...
