View - details - everything goes away.
Greetings,
When I first went to several of my folders lastnight - I thought someone had hacked into my harddrive and deleted a bunch of folders. After almost getting the FBI involved (no exageration - as there's only a short list of people who would have done it)by accident today I discovered the files weren't deleted - it's just that... Any folder where I had left the view options as either large icons, small icons(rarely used by me) or list - the files show. Any folder where the view options had been left on 'details' a grey bar appears below the toolbar, and NO files show. And...you can still toggle back and forth - in other words, select view - large icons - all the files show. Select view - details - and all the files disappear. Anyplace in the windows 98 operating system where there this can be toggled so 'details' works again? I want to be able to see when the last time any of my many files were accessed... Thanks! Joe |

Alan, that was awsome!!! Woohoo!
Alan,
One of the things I've noticed on this forum is not a lot of feedback about mission accomplished. That immediately fixed the problem - and for ovbious reasons is something I never would have just stumbled upon by myself - it took somebody who already knew how to fix the problem - or knows how to find a fix for the problem. Everything appeared one column at a time - and moved sideways to make room for the next column. Great job, many thanks for a quick fix that worked. Be great! Joe Anyhow, Alan, thank you - -----Original Message----- Click in the blank right-hand pane. Hi Joe,
Thanks for the feedback (rare, as you say). You can use CTRL+ at any time. It re-orders the columns to fit the data, as you probably noticed. It just happens to be a fix for your problem as well. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.display.general, "Joe Needs Help" wrote: Alan, One of the things I've noticed on this forum is not a lot of feedback about mission accomplished.
