Default PING Silj......AdAware 1.05 (ptui!!)

I am so fed up with the damn thing freezing up on me (usually about 600
files in) that I have now removed it totally and will just stick with
Spybot.

1.04 was awful and 1.03 froze a time or two......so whatever they are doing,
they ain't doing it right (as the Loon would say). Give me back the old,
reliable version 6.xxx!!

And if you want me to post this on Lavasoft Forum, you betcha I will!!!!

FWIW, Heather - the freezes are apparently only because you're doing other
things at the time (try going out to dinner while the scan is running,
rather than fiddling with the system!g)
It's never balked on me yet (although I have to admit I use it mostly in XP,
rather than ME)

Heather,

No freezes here on ME. I set it to scan and let it run.

Sorry to hear that Figgs. I have only run "Smart System" and Custom
scans to date. No problems as yet. I'm still on ME but, XP Home is in
the box waiting for me to make hardware changes before upgrading.
Reading the XP groups is giving me some tremors though. I might need a
"two--------------finger' martini before I take the leap.

Same here, Figgs. Even on this ol' box w/Me, it is running just
fine.....of course, I have yet to get Spyware Blaster to work in the Windows
mode.
Heirloom, old and maybe it just doesn't like
psychics.

SMACK!! I wasn't running anything else when I ran it......and I was just
doing the Smart scan. I would say it freezes every 3rd time I use it.

It is now gone off this computer and I am not about to put it back on here!!
Unless I download a new one and try that. Spybot takes much longer, but
never screws up on me.....oops, *freezes* up on me. (G)

Grumbling to myself......gonna put that durned XP on here so stuff will
work, mumble, *itch, complain, natter.......

Same here, Sced.....it is sitting beside me yelling to be put on here. I
really must do so......but my best personality trait is *procrastination*,
grin.

I am going to unload a bunch of my mp3's to CD's and then take the plunge.
I think all the hardware is OK now that I put new nVidia drivers on. It
seems like such a Herculean Undertaking tho......

Wonder if Mike or Noel want to come over to Toronto and I will feed and
water them in return for putting it on........(VBG)

I can't get Ad-aware v1.04 or v1.05 to work on XP!
Still running v1.03 which doesn't freeze under any conditions.

You'll notice at Lavasoft Support they've broken down the support
into O/S categories.
Win 9x for Ad-aware SE freeware is he

That's funny, Figgs, cos when you update to SP2 it'll put it's own NVidia
drivers on there anyway! If you had a slipstreamed SP2 cd you wouldn't have
needed to touch the drivers in the first place.

You should both get an SP2 cd (cover discs or probably at the check out of
your major computer store) ready for when you get round to the XP
installation.
