ME OS
Well-intended person installed (unlicensed) XP on 2nd
computer. Want to do SP2, but realize this probably can't be done. Should I buy home edition XP and try to override the unlicensed version? Then download SP2? What advice? |

The best thing to do would be to buy a full XP Home or Pro, boot from the XP
CD, and reformat the drive and install it as a clean/fresh install. Make sure you already have XP drivers for the video card, sound card, and all periphrerals, etc. Then install SP2 "Bob" wrote in message ... Not sure what you mean about *override*, but all you need is the key (I
don't mean a pirate key. A legitimate key). The key is the license and the cheapest way to get one is probably to buy a copy of Home (get the Upgrade version). Then activate using the installed copy with the new key, possibly by phone. btw this question is asked all the time on microsoft.public.windowsxp.general. Shane "Bob" wrote in message ...
