Default Microsoft Backup

I'm planning on backing up my OS (Win98se) to a second
hard drive using Microsoft Backup. Will files used during
the backup process be backed up? If not, will this not
cause problems on a restore to a clean location?

Don't use it period. Find another backup solution.
