IP address
Hello, how do I determine a PC`s internet static/dynamic IP address,
Computer name and Workgroup name. I`m going to try to set up a friends two desktops to a cable router(linksys) to share a B/B connection and think I need to know how to do this. Win98se. Thanks Kim |

It's also easier to just enter 4.2.2.2 for the DNS server as well. You can enter those numbers, as well as look at the computer and workgroup name, by right-clicking on the "Network Neighborhood" desktop icon and selecting properties. Drill down to the TCP-IP setting for the ethernet card and look at it's properties, and change them as necessary. |

I don't know how B/B operates but some ISPs require the dynamic address and/or the NICs MAC address entered into the routers configuration to gain web access. -- Brian A.
