Actually, I thought the setup wizard's appearance might be something more common
that it is, apparently, as I ran your problem by some other MVP's and the previous suggestions came in part from their input. I will wait for your responses to Ben's and Bill's suggestions, and see if anything show up there. Barring that, you may simply want to bite the bullet and complete the wizard.....it is quite possible that nothing will be changed on the system when it's done. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Boone" wrote in message ... Done. Sorry to say, it had no effect. Ideas? Thanks. Andrew "glee" wrote: The patch I suggested reinstalling is only 665 KB....download it on another computer, copy it to a floppy, and transport it to the problem computer, then reinstall it there. Ben,
Thank you! I did find a old back-up the registry and was able to reinstall it. This allowed the PC to boot (with a bunch of errors), but I was then able to clean the reg & system files. All is good now. Thank you. Andrew "Ben Myers" wrote: Try restoring a previous registry by starting the computer in "Command Prompt" and type "scanreg /restore". Glad to hear it. Yes, restoring a previous registry would be the logical next step
, as Ben suggested. I am glad it worked for you. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Boone" wrote in message ...
