PC hangs after installing Wireless modem
Just installed a Linksys Wireless router and a Dlink
Wireles PCI Adapter. After completing system configuration the PC hangs. When searching task list (Ctrl-alt-del), the Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer are not responding. When I close the Windows Explorer, the Internet Explorer launches fine and I'm on the web. It seems there might be a resource conflict, but not sure. I've reinstalled several times, changed IRQ settings for the wireless device, changed PCI slots for device, turned off all startup programs (safe-mode), and still have the same problem. In short, after setting up the wireless configuration, the PC continues to hang. Closing the Windows Explorer will unfreezes the PC temporarily. I installed the wireless device on two other PCs (both Win98)running through the same router and it appears to work fine. Only see problems on PC with WinME. Any ideas..... |
