Default Windows Updates

Why does Windows Updates keep repeating and installing a
specific update (KB832894) This particular update has
installed at least 50 times over the past 6 months, and
the automatic update keeps picking it up as uninstalled.

Thanks

Default Windows Updates

Rick,

Is it listed in Add/Remove Programs as being installed ? It should
appear there as Q832894 . If not, it never installed properly.
Download it from here, save it to disk, and install it either with
your antivirus program temporarily disabled or from Safe Mode :

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB832894)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

How to Start a Windows 98-Based Computer in Safe Mode
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=180902

If you chose to install it with your AV temporarily disabled
remember to reenable it after the install and any required rebooting
is finished.

Mowgreen, Thanks for the reply. It does not show up in
Add/remove programs, but it does show up numerous times in
Windows Update History as being installed multiple times.
I will try installing it again in Safe Mode.

Thanks,
Rick
