Test your installation using this test file, Harry.
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
The findings *should* be Sun JVM v1.5.0_09
If no joy, uninstall _all_ the installations your currently have via
Add/Remove Programs. Reboot, once done, proceed here;
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Proceed to precisely this download, none else!
"Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9"
Click the download button, accept the license agreement, choose the
"offline" installation. Download and install and your good to go.

Thanks siljaline, but I opened Adaware, and it tells
me that I have the latest definitions.
So that's not much help.

Harry.

Check the "OP", Siljaline and you will see that "webster73n" is playing
games with you all. His ID is "Happiness"
Must be having a lot of time on his hands.

Don't forget, Silj, you've replied to 'webster73n', not webster72n.
In any case, I did dowload my latest version from the very same url, but
being online, because it was suggested by them.
Is that important?

I know it's wrong what this person is doing but the remarks, like this one,
are funny.

Thanks canna.

My favourite response is the one by Alias to this:

"I've just been to the WU site,
and it's offering a new version of
Sun-Java, do you think I should install
it over the top of the other 3386,
or somewhere in the middle of them?"

Alias's response:

"I think you should quit while you're still ahead."

That doubles me up!

Cheers H.

That's why I thought it was Shane.....he can be *off the wall* a lot of
the time, and yes, it was funny. I laughed when I read that one.

You mean "Happiness Is", right, Harry? I don't see the connection beyond
that you've replied to that person's posts. Obviously you have a reason, and
it doesn't look as if it's as compelling as, say, 'Happiness Is' emailing
you and owning up to it. Possibly there are some aspects of computing in
which I've approached a degree of expertise, but this isn't one of them, so
I'm intrigued as to why you seem convinced these are one and the same
person?

Convinced would be the wrong word, but at one time I've seen both names come
up, when looking at properties, but don't see them now, at least not at a
glance.
That means I owe an apology to 'Galen' and 'Happiness', unless they have
been impersonated also.
I would like to ask your or anyones favor though, to help single out the
"perpetrator".
Again, my apologies to Galen and Happiness.

Harry.

Harry after due consideration I can say, without a doubt,
that the "perpetrator" is not Elvis. I know this is true
because I heard that he has left the building.

Job says, "One of the big problems of today is that nobody
wants to accept responsibility for anything....but don't
quote me on that."
