Default Accidentally installed DirectX 8.0 BDA on a system with DirectX 9.0b

I had DirectX 9.0b on my system when I accidentally
installed DirectX 8.0 BDA. Will the installation mess up
my system? Did DX8.0 BDA replace DX9.0b?
I'll greatly appreciate someone's help.

Thanks,
Cherub

I'm kind of surprised that was even allowed to happen. Why don't you just
reinstall DirectX 9.0b?

To find out which version you have installed, go to Start/Run/type in
"dxdiag" without quotes./OK

Enter dxdiag in the Start = Run box and see what version
is installed.

If you need to remove DirectX, there is a link to a
removal tool on this page:
