Default Everything crashes after NAV2004 install

Installed NAV2004 and Anti-Spam2004 at friend's PC a few days.
Removed NAV2002 Corporate Edition before using Add/remove Programs.

Win98 crashes very frequently since.
Word closes while typing etc.
System is malware free.
PC is hardly usable now.
Friend goes nuts.

Any suggestions?
Cannot work without NAV2004 and Anti-Spam2004 tho.

TIA,
John

I have never seen NAV 2004 properly install on W9x yet without major
problems. You should of stayed with what you had working.

Hi,

Uninstall Anti-Spam2004. If problems persist, uninstall Norton. If the
problem is still there, then you know it wasn't either of those programs.

On the other hand, if uninstalation of the programs solves the issue
then you will need to consider alternate programs or perhaps a different
OS if that is feasible.

I have had bad experiences with recent versions of Norton and Win98.
Haven't had problems installing them in XP.

Was he having computer problems before you installed the new programs?
If you can stay online long enough, try a free online virus scan:
Online Antivirus scanners:
--------------------------
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp
http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp
http://commandondemand.com/eval/index.cfm
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
http://www.pcpitstop.com/antivirus/default.asp
http://scan.sygatetech.com/prestealthscan.html

Go to the Symantec website for directions on completely removing NAV2002
Corporate Edition after uninstalling 2004.
I would also uninstall Anti-Spam2004 first.
If it how works OK, try installing NAV2004 and get it going good.
Then, install Anti-Spam2004.

Unfortunately, that's not so. The Norton uninstall procedure is incomplete,
and it often leaves major problems behind.

You don't use add/remove programs selection for removal of any Symantec
product. You should have used the uninstall selection for the product.

There's a removal tool that will find and delete "all" entries in registry
at the Symantec site.

As for NAV2004, it works fine on my 98SE system.

Thx.

Found the NAV2002 removal tool.
Will it work for Corp. Editions as well?
Removed NAV2004 and AntiSpam2004 for time being.
Haven't heard about results from friend yet.
(maybe lost a friend, lol)

Seen all rumours, I start to believe NAV2004 not really supports Win98(SE)
anymore allthough the box print states so.
