Default Missing TCP/IP Protocol-Install USB to Ethernet Adapter

Hello,

I am trying to install/use a Siemens Speedstream USB 10/100 Ethernet Adapter
on a Gateway SOLO 9300 CX running Windows 98SE.

During the install a file was declared missing from C: drive (sorry went so
fast I missed the file name), yet driver from CD was installed ok and shows
up in list of network adapters under Device Manager.

Called local cable company to debug my problem and they conclude after
running winipcfg that the TCP/IP protocol for the adapter is missing. The
adapter does not show in the pull down.

When I go to windows control panel/network to ADD protocol, nothing happens.

I am stuck and not sure where to turn. I tried Gateway support with no
progress and have not been able to contact Siemens which is my next step.

Peace,
GR

Default Missing TCP/IP Protocol-Install USB to Ethernet Adapter

Have you tried restarting the computer from cold and then trying to add the
TCP/IP protocol?
