Viewing whole picture in Microsoft Paint
Is it possible to view the WHOLE of a large picture in Paint?
By this I mean the equivalent of Photoshop's "Fit on Screen", or the ability to "Zoom Out" to LESS than 100%. Paint doesn't do much, but it is very fast to open and to operate and can open damaged files that Photoshop rejects. If I could get Paint to show the whole picture in one go it would make it far more useful as a viewer, and make cropping large images into a practical proposition. Without a view-whole-picture facility it is hopeless for cropping because it is only possible to drag a selection accurately across the (often very small) portion of the image that is visible on screen! Any suggestions anyone? |

Any suggestions anyone? As MM said, get Irfanview (www.irfanview.com). It's free, its quick, it's excellent. If the picture you're viewing doesn't fit on the screen, just hit the CR and Irfanview will resize it so that it fits the screen. Just that quickly. -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(DTS) |

You mean there is actually freeware without adware, malware or spyware.
What's the catch? "Tim Slattery" wrote in message ... "Walsallian" wrote: Is it possible to view the WHOLE of a large picture in Paint? And there is other freeware out there without ads, etc.; you just have to read about what you're getting. Most people don't, so they assume that all freeware is bad. How much did you pay for Spybot and AdAware? MM |

Good point, MM. Thanks, although in the case of Adaware and Spybot I was
pretty sure it was okay by the fact that Microsoft suggests using these products on one of their websites as well as MVP's talking about the two products being important in the fight against junk. : "Mostly Me (MM)" wrote in message ... Thanks Folks, I'll try Irfanview.
I entirely agree about Spybot and Ad-Aware. They are free (though there's a pay version of the latter as well) and I'd add SpywareBlaster too which specifically deals with Active-X controls - there's a link to it on the Spybot screen and web-site. Only problem - Spybot updates are a pig to download if you have a dial-up connection, just try opening and closing Microsoft Word documents during the download to speed it up (I know it sounds daft but it works for me!). The other thing is to avoid scams with similar names to these products. |

Very true, you must be careful about scams. Did you know that you can
change the place that you download the updates from. You can choose default of Europe or Australia or U.S., etc. Hopefully, choosing another area may make your downloads a little faster even with a dial-up connection. "Walsallian" wrote in message ...
