Default Compressing video and audio to save disk space - some insights

There are other things in audio and video processing I'd rather tweak.
:-)

I mentioned early reflections because they're specifically designed to
solve
the same problem you want solved. You don't even have to tweak them, most
units or prgrams provide a few, and you rarely need many to choose from.
It's
highly likely that your pseudo stereo tool is dong exactly this anyway.
But
the more alternatives you try, the more you'll know about what the ones
you
have now are doing.

I've got my hands full with all the variations in noise reduction and click
and pop removal, and that's just for the audio stuff.

Oh, that reminds me. If you want a nice challenge, try taking a MP4 video
file, demuxing out its poor audio track (for example) like maybe you got it
off YouTube and the guy screwed it up), and remuxing in a cleaner audio file
from a different source (of the same music, but having a slightly different
pitch and length)(even though its supposed to be from the same record).

Trying to get them to be identical in pitch and tempo and duration is a bit
of a matching challenge! :-)

And of course, the best thing is to demux the file and remux it, since that
way, you don't have to reencode the entire video (which looses a bit of
quality, naturally).

I can't. I got too many other audio and video processing effects to mess
with. :-)

But I'll also admit, I'm not going to spend 40 hours or more manually
removing clicks and pops in a music file one by one in the interest of
perfection, either. :-)

In principle, those remarks are totally contradicting. Why switch one
obsession for another? Or compare one against another? Better to know what
you need and reach for that. All I've been doing here is showing how many
apparently different things do the same task, though not always with equal
ease or ability.

Because we each have our own, unique, obsessions. :-)
Or was that rhetorical? :-)

I'm out, not getting enough sleep as it is, got to avoid that.

Yeah, it's 10 PM over here. Don't know what time in the morning it is over
there though, but I imagine it's pretty late. Or early, I should say.
