Default specific files within cab files

I had to deinstall the IE files from my
c:\programfiles\internetexplorer because I could not run
the IE connection wizard. I need to extract all associated
files from the 98 install cd. My problem is: I cannot find
the specific files to extract via SFC. ex: Icwconn1.exe,
Icwconn2.exe, Inetwiz.exe, etc.
I then believe upon reinstalling those files to the above
path, I can reestablish internet connection.
Any Help?

if SFC does not automatically detect that these files are

missing, I would suggest you try getting the update for
IE6 from Microsoft. you can call them and pay for a CD
with the update. Or, depending on your ISP, and if the
files are still there to let you manually connect to the
internet, make your dialer, put your user name in when
prompted put your password in you will be prompted and
since most providers use DHCP these days you will not need
any other settings as the host will provide upon
connection. hope that helps.

Who told you that you needed to deinstall the IE files? The IE connection
wizard problems are most often caused by an aberrant registry restriction,
though I am only guessing based on the most common cause of problems because
'could not run the IE connection wizard' does not include some essential
detail.

How did you 'deinstall the IE files', exactly what files did you
'deinstall'? Personally, I would try reinstalling Windows on top of itself,
depending on what version of IE you are running.
