Printing to POS printer
I am trying print to POS printer from win98 pc. Although the POS pronters
intedned to work with POS terminals, I think it probably should work when atached to regular PC too. I just take used Epson TM-L60IIP model M121A for testing. This printer has been used for printing labels, so I assume its a label printer. Manual say it has a DIP switch that can be set to 'OFF' - this will set "Thermal paper" mode, instead of "Thermal Label paper". I set it to 'OFF'. I am not sure which driver should I use with this model: first I tried driver called Epson TM-L60II(Receipt), I atached printer to parallel port (LPT1), but can no get it print anything. Driver pack called Tdr161e.exe Then I tried Epson TM-L60II(Single) driver, same result., no printing.. When install drivers, there are selection from three drivers for this printer type: Epson TM-L60II(Receipt) Epson TM-L60II(Single) Epson TM-L60II(Plural) printer manual: http://www.perimatic.fr/documentatio...r%20Manual.pdf Driver installation manual: http://gtts.ehu.es/TWiki/pub/Main/We...ini-manual.pdf |

If the printer self-test fails, looking at the driver and the computer won't help you. ------------ printer self-test fails, dont know what is the reason. This printer is used device, maybe problems in printer hardware itself. But I got another printer: Epson TM-T88II (R) Receipt, model M129B. I installed drivers and find it works. I can print self-test page. Now i want to find how to adjust printing width: I'm printing on default 80mm width paper roll, and after a few test I see it prints is very narrow(I tried print from Wordpad). Not sure how to adjust required printing width, and how to print from the new row. Printer driver installed a plenty printer fonts, not sure how to use it from windows Word or Wordpad. Basically I need simple adjust margins, also some text need be printed in bold. Regards, argent |

Basically I need simple adjust margins, also some text need be printed in bold. I don't know much about this, but you'll get clues from the self-test. If it shows bold, and more than one font, it can print them. I doubt you can render the print as a raster graphic, so you likely need special print control characters managed by the driver, so look for specific controls for that printer rather than Windows... And don't rely on my advice, this as far as I can go, I've never used a specialised printer like that. I guess you can try setting fonts sizes in Windows programs too though, see if the printer changes anything as a result... |
