I am in full agreement on anything containing pork!!
Sausages......eeewwww!! Remind me to tell you about the Cumberland sausage
fiasco when we were in Scotland....LOL.

But he obviously has no intestinal problems if he could eat the Loon's
chili......I know I couldn't.

No he doesn't eat burgers, the only sausage he'll eat are the hot dog
sausages that come in tins, although he did once quite like Cumberland
sausage. He doesn't like pork but he likes pork pie and sausage rolls g
trouble is he's not supposed to have the sausage rolls because they have
pastry and he's not allowed that.
He used to like pies like chicken and mushroom but again can't have
because of the pastry, I tell you it's very expensive trying to feed a
diabetic because the things he liked were cheaper and the things he can
have are damned expensive gplus he's fussy.
He'd be no good with Heirlooms chilli, he doesn't like things too hot
either g

I seem to recall Proctor and Bergman (probably) calling it "Beef Awful".
That was probably a variety of cat food. Have you tried him on cat food?

He doesn't like pork, lamb, beef or even mince so when I used to make

So he doesn't like burgers? It must be around about 1980, when I was in
Oxford Street - probably to buy a Firesign Theatre album in HMV - that I
went into Wendy's for a burger and it was such a vast improvement over
the fast food competition that when Wendy's disappeared - no doubt
because the masses prefer the waste products of MacDonalds - I began
making my own (sort of) by buying a tray of mince, squashing it vaguely
burger shape and frying it. Really it needed the small amount of bread or
whatever it is they use, presumably as a binder. I do find it very hard
to understand a meat eater who doesn't like burgers! When I quit the
stuff I switched to Sainsbury's or Tesco's chargrilled vegeburgers
because they taste enough like beefburgers (especially with cheese,
onions, ketchup, American mustard, horseradish, lettuce and lightly
toasted bread to squash it all between!). In fact, I suddenly know what
tonight's dinner is going to be!

If you remember a couple of years back (so probably three or one) my
ruminations on the 'pickles' you smell when you walk past a Subway (as
opposed to a subway, which if anything will smell like a telephone box),
that was entirely about completing my vegeburger concoctions. Still
haven't found them, though the gerkin I was given at the chippy in
Edgware that was not simply open New Year's Day, but where you get fish
fried in matzo, which I like from time to time, came close. Meanwhile I
get the impression I'm the only gentile in Britain who likes matzo!
Though on the whole I think I prefer batter, these days).

shepherds pie always had to make him something different, he hasn't got
any better with age either especially being diabetic and not being
allowed to eat some of the cheaper food.
We both love fish but you can't have that every day either and he's
fussy give him something a couple of times and he decides he's gone off
it grrrrrrrrrr he's just a nightmare trying to find something different
to eat everyday g

And you're making me feel hungry especially talking about doughnuts,
it's OK though I've got a couple of cream horns in the fridge and a

After a while the smell of meat becomes nauseating. Worst is what
it smells like within a couple of hundred yards of MacDonald's.
One bad one is that dish Noel was talking about the other week.
Anything pig-based is stomach churning. Beef isn't that bad

time that British beef is supposed to endow one with CJD).

The smell of (wet) cat food doesn't bother me at all, possibly

Same Old Harry.

See above.

P.S.: In another NG someone has this approximate tagline:
"Don't pick a fight with an old man, he'll just kill you".

Announcing oneself psychotic is not really a wise thing to do.

It sort of fits my mood once in a while.

Indeed, Harry. You said you were of German extraction. At first glance
'Webster' sounds undeniably English - but then Webber is clearly German
and I expect Webster shares the etymology at least. And after all many if
not all English names seem to come from French, German, Scandinavian
(Beatson, for e.g.) and Welsh.

But from time to time you say things that makes me suspect that actually
'Webster' was the name of someone who hasn't been seen for a few years now
but whose skin you're sitting in as you type!

My skin is 'virtually' the same as it was 80 years ago and my name 'Harry'
was given after someone else's nomination, purposely pointing in the
'English' direction.
Also, my choice of 'webster' was coincidental, I simply liked it.
But 'Moosh Grater'?
Don't make me look it up...

Heather - No wonder you had a fiasco in Scotland. You're supposed to get
Cumberland Sausages from Cumberland (Cumbria) in England. Scotland does
haggis. (and rather well, too)

BTW - There's a butcher in Kendal who sells the worlds best Cumberland
sausages - delicious!! I used to travel there regularly and bring lbs. of
'em back home for friends and family. But Loon's chili does sound pretty
dynamic - err.. impresive - err.. explosive? Wonder if he's allowed to
export it?

Hi Mart.......they were from Cumberland cuz Bob bought them there when we
did the royal tour to Whitehaven and over to Bowness on Windermere. BUT,
when he cooked them perfectly (Ron was watching and drooling), he went to
put them in the oven to keep them warm and dumped them all on the floor!!!!!

The worst part?? He then threw them out!! Ron would have dusted them off
and demolished them.....lol. And this non-frugal Bob is Scottish?? (G) He
and his wife live in our ancestor's house in Kirkton.......just a wonderful
couple and Elayne went over the next year to stay with them.

PS......I detest haggis!! Much to Bob's dismay.
