PTSnoop can be either a backdoor trojan or part of your modem driver set.
If your antivirus program is not detecting it, think modem.

I should think without doing a websearch, that it is either
spywa ptSNOOP, or a preventative proggie.

Web search result: Yep, a backdoor virus.

This is not a virus, it is part of your McAFee virus scan
system.I was told by an MSN technical support person it
was it was and went hours of mumbel jumble.
I repeat it is not a virus it is part of Mcafee virus
scan.

Thou mayest want to rethink that.

http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_100820.htm

This detection is for a remote access trojan written in
MSVB. There are multiple versions of the trojan.

The trojan is intended to download pages from specific URLs,
all within the following domain:

CJB.NET

Upon execution, the trojan copies itself to %SysDir% using a
misleading filename. For example:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PTSNOOP.EXE

An entry is added to the WIN.INI file to hook system
startup:

[windows]
"load" = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PTSNOOP.EXE
