Can paste unformatted text from IE to Wordpad by default?
I use internet cafes a lot to do research, and am always copying and
pasting stuff from the web browser to Wordpad. When I use Internet Explorer, if I copy a story and try to paste it into Wordpad, I have to use "paste special" to get unformatted text, which is what I want. When you are doing this constantly it becomes a huge pain to have to do this, and I want to be able to just use the Paste command. Now I dislike Internet Explorer, because it's so slow, so I've recently tried to use other browsers. I've noticed that when I do the same thing in Opera or Mozilla, if I select text from a web page I can paste it into WOrdpad with just a paste command, and it will paste as unformatted text by default. Great, but now I'm having problems with these programs, mainly that I can't get them to run from my USB Pen Drive, and the Internet Cafes don't have these programs (they prefer Explorer because it's so slow, it makes people spend more time and money in the cafe ;-) If there's no way to get Wordpad to default paste as unformatted text, I'm wondering if there's some other freeware Wordpad replacement program that will allow me to Paste as unformatted by default. Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks. |

Can paste unformatted text from IE to Wordpad by default?
Try the Firefox web browser:
http://texturizer.net/firefox/ How to Run Firefox from a USB Memory Stick http://texturizer.net/firefox/tips.html#oth_usb I have seen others mention the problem you describe, and the only solution I have seen is to use Paste Special in Wordpad, when it occurs. There are numerous other text editors you can use instead.....EditPad, The GUN Notepad Replacement....do a Google search. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Lehar V.
