Default Missing virtual driver files when booting ...

When starting up 98 before the Windows 98 screen appears I
get two error messages:

vredir.vxd and dfs.vxd files do not exist. Somehow these
have been deleted. Where can I copy them from as I do not
have the original Windows '98 CD.

Do you have the .CAB files for Windows 98 copied onto your hard drive?
Many OEMs copy the files from the CD to the C:\Windows\Options\Cabs
folder as part of the install process.

You can use SFC or the Extract command to get the files you need if
the .CAB files are on the hard drive.

Good luck

Please post the exact error message you are getting, verbatim. Describe
what has changed at about the time the messages first appeared.

Your original W98 files might be in a folder on the hard drive. look for a
directory with a lot of files with extension CAB.

Starting your message with is not recommended as it may be ignored.
