Date and Time

Hi, for some reason when i double click on the time (as i want to change the
time), nothing happens.

Is there any other way, via the command prompt for eg, that this setting can
be changed? via c:/windows\?????? etc?

Excluding the control panel.

start run timedate.cpl is the same as the control panel ...or you could use
the old "time" or "date" commands at a dos prompt

Why not fix the problem instead of looking for a workaround? If nothing happens
when you double-click the clock, try directly double-clicking the timedate.cpl file
in the Windows\System folder. If you get the same 'nothing' behaviour there,
extract a new copy of timedate.cpl to the System folder, from your Windows 98 CD.

To troubleshoot Control Panel problems:
Click StartFindFiles or Folders.
In the "Named" box, type:
*.cpl
and in the Look In drop-down box, select the C: drive.
Click Find Now.

Maximise the window and click on the heading "In Folder" to sort the files by
directory. Look at the files listed in the \Windows\System directory.

Double-click each file in turn...if some work, but one of the files gives you the
error, that Control Panel file is corrupt.

To fix the error you must replace the .cpl file using the Extract one file option of
System File checker (SFC).
