Default Incorrect date and time

Am running W98SE. Time and date was wrong every time computer
turned on. Had new battery put in and now the problem still there.
What else can I try to correct this?

Hi Larry,

This is a known issue with Win98. For more information on this
problem check these articles, and the information below.

Note: The system battery doesn't have anything to do with the clock when
Windows is running. If the system is restarted and the clock returns to the
correct time, replacing the battery will have on effect.

Restart or Network Connection Changes Computer Date and Time

A "few" of the other known reasons why the system may lose or display the
incorrect time:
1. Some screen savers
2. Some 3rd party tools that attempt to log into an "atomic clock" and then
auto-set your system
3. Setting a time within Win98 that conflicts with your LAN time (if on a
LAN or networked)
4. Setting a time within Win98 that conflicts with the time setting in your
CMOS
5. Overclocking on some systems
6. Incorrect voltage settings on the mother board
7. Some older DOS or Win3.x games/apps
8. Norton SystemWorks and Cybermedia GuardDog
9. Having the wrong GMT adjustment setting, or having tinkered with that GMT
offset via the TZEdit program
10. NAV 2000 has been identified as one that gives 1 hour jumps
Norton AntiVirus 2000 KB

11. Presents of Spyware or maulware on the system.
Run Ad-aware to search for and remove. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

A workaround:
Download and install: Atomic Clock Sync (atomic clock synchronize freeware
utility):
