ME Installation
I am trying to install Windows ME on a new hard drive that was just
purchased. After partitioning and setting up the installation is stuck on the final step in the process called "Setting up Hardware and Finalizing Settings". The error that comes up is titled "Network" and says "You must provide computer and workgroup names that will identify this computer on the network" then there is a "OK" button. The problem is all my functions are frozen, my keyboard and mouse do not work on this screen so I can't move on. I have tried three different keyboards and mice to no avail. I am using a Microsoft installation CD that came with my Dell computer. I also have an XP upgrade CD and have tried using that but it doesn't do anything. I can reboot the computer but it always ends up back at the same place with no keyboard or mouse working so I can't complete the install. Any other suggestions? |
