Hello All,
I mistakenly associated some files to WinZip using "view" "file types", now
when I click on desktop application icons WinZip starts. Can anyone help me
out of this dilemma?

Thanks

Create new shortcuts. Right click the desktop, new shortcut, browse to the
program's folder, click the program's execute file, click OK and follow the
on screen prompts. When your new shortcut is working, delete the old one.

That .reg file works when the .lnk association is broke. He screwed up the
associations by making WinZip the program to open files when he should not
have..

Oh. Sorry. Yes, I see; that .reg is inappropriate. Still, I think MMJII
has mussed associations, if he's been inside Folder Options. He should
state the file types of the icons he's clicking, maybe.

So, R-Clk one, Properties, General tab. What shows in in "MS-DOS Name",
after the final dot?

Here I believe is your .reg (which I downloaded long ago). I guess it
doesn't re-associate .lnk's...

Go back into "START, Settings, Folder Options, File Types tab". Use the
keyboard down-arrow to slowly examine each one. Which shows "Extension:
LNK"?

If one is actually named "LNK File", highlight it, & click the Remove
button. I have WinZip, & there is no such thing in my tab.
